Susanoo est un Kami, dieu issue de la mythologie Shinto et fils d’Izanagi. Il naquit lorsque son père se purifia dans une rivière sacrée de retour du voyage au royaume des morts, le pays de Yomi. Au même moment, naquis aussi sa sœur Amaterasu Kami solaire, et son frère Tsukiyomi seigneur comptable des Lunes.
